RAWQ Awards are given to people selected from nominations received from the community at large, from community organisations, our members and the Board of Directors.

Place: Heritage College - Continuing Education, 325 Cité des Jeunes, Gatineau (Hull Sector)

Enrolment:  Currently by telephone or in person at Heritage College Weekdays 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Evaluation for levels:  September 10 and 11 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the College

FRENCH CONVERSATION
Levels 1-2, Mondays & Wednesdays/ Levels 3-4-5, Tuesdays & Thursdays
All courses are 10 weeks, 2 evenings per week, total of 40 hours
6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Cost: $275.00

FRENCH GRAMMAR (Basic/Intermediate/Advanced)
This is the course you’ve been looking for to improve your written French.

Tuesdays, total of 30 hours, 6:30–9:30 p.m. Cost: $200.00
FRENCH (Preparation for government tests - levels A, B,C)

Mondays and Wednesdays, total 40 hours
6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Cost: $ 275.00
All courses start week of September 22, 2008.

Beginners: Monday evenings 7 - 9:30 p.m. and Intermediates on Tuesdays 7 - 9:30 p.m.

Cost:  Course is free; $30 for enrolment; material around $50 Two evenings a week 6:30 – 9:30 pm for the year.

2008 Annual General Meeting - Overview

Summary
The 28th Annual Meeting of the Regional Association of West Quebecers (RAWQ) was held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 in the Pontiac High School, Shawville, Québec.

 

Presentation by Mike Dubeau, Assistant Director of Education, Western Quebec School Board:  Strategic Plan for English schools in Outaouais region, aimed at continuing improvement in performance
 

Report by President of RAWQ: access to health and social services and retention of Anglophone  nursing graduates – concern with future of English education – City of Gatineau translating bylaws into English – youth consultation (province-wide conference in September 2008)
 

 Resolutions:
1. calling on Anglophones in Russell, Ontario to cease boycott of Francophone businesses

2. calling for reestablishment of the Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield steam train.
