The 28th Annual Meeting of the Regional Association of West
Quebecers (RAWQ) was held on Saturday, June 14, 2008 in the
Pontiac High School, Shawville, Québec.
Presentation
by Mike Dubeau, Assistant Director of Education, Western Quebec
School Board: Strategic Plan for English schools in
Outaouais region, aimed at continuing improvement in performance
Report
by President of RAWQ: access to health and social services and
retention of Anglophone nursing graduates – concern with
future of English education – City of Gatineau translating
bylaws into English – youth consultation (province-wide
conference in September 2008)
Resolutions:
1. calling on Anglophones in Russell, Ontario to cease boycott of
Francophone businesses
2.
calling for reestablishment of the Hull-Chelsea-Wakefield steam
train.
